Sea Turtle Fundraising Success!!!

Congratulations to our team of fund raisers, Erin, Faith, Eleanor, Mollie, Madiha and Kiera who together with their class mates in year 5 have raised more than £350 to help protect sea life!!  We are so proud to have a group of children approach staff with an idea, and then go on to organise and plan a day of fundraising with so little adult input.  This shows incredible maturity and initiative and they are an inspiration to us all!!  Well done year 5!!

Thank you so much to all of our parents who have supported this venture by sending money in with the children, all money raised will go to the Sealife Trust.

Commonwealth Day Flag Raising Ceremony

Our Commonwealth Day writing competition winner Luci Williams represented our school today at the Commonwealth Day flag raising ceremony.  Luci was invited to attend the Mayor’s Parlour where she received her prizes and took part in the ceremony.   Well done Luci, we are extremely proud of you!!

Seat Belt Safety

Yesterday in assembly we were given a presentation on seat belt safety by Special Constable Clive Broadhurst, together with his colleague PC Ian Cook.  The presentation was excellent and something that the children will always remember.  Afterwards all of the children walked through the special bridge to see whether they need to use a booster seat or not, according to their height.

Visitors from China!!

On Monday we were incredibly lucky to have visitors from China in school to tell us all about Chinese New Year!  Our visitors, Liu Zheng and his Dad told us all about the celebrations that will be taking place in China.  Liu Zheng, who is a cousin of  Lucas and Thomas told us all about school life in China.  We were surprised to learn that in China there are 52 children in his class!  Liu Zheng enjoyed visiting a British school and even sampled a school dinner!
